Safety First
We at Auld like to take care of our assets, and our employees are the best asset we have! Every month we have a safety meeting to keep our employees up to date on various topics. We've covered things like hazard communication to be on top of the new Globally Harmonized System, ergonomics to reduce stress from repetitive movements, first aid and blood borne pathogens. Our most recent topic was fire safety and fire extinguisher use.
A member of the Columbus Fire Department came out to our facility and set up an area where each employee was able to extinguish a small contained fire. He spoke about the dangers of attempting to fight a fire and to keep your safety as the first priority. He also gave a few tips in case of a fire at home, such as putting a lid on a pot if it catches fire.
We hope we never have to be in a situation to fight a fire. But in the event we do, our team is now more knowledgeable to do so!!
